Privacy Policy

1. Overview

My Personal DJ ("the app", "we", "our") is a Windows desktop application that works entirely with music files stored on your own device. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what choices you have.

The app does not upload, transmit, or share your music files with any server. All audio analysis and playback processing happens locally on your computer.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to operate the app and process purchases.

License and activation data. When you purchase a Plus or Lifetime plan and activate your license, your license key and a device identifier are sent to LicenseSeat (our license management provider) to validate your activation. This allows you to use the app across allowed devices and recover your license if needed.

Purchase data. Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. When you make a purchase, LemonSqueezy collects your payment and billing information. We receive a confirmation of the transaction and your license key. We do not store payment card details.

Support communications. If you contact us at support@mypersonaldj.com, we receive your email address and the content of your message. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your music library, file names, playback history, listening habits, or any other information from within the app. The app does not include analytics tracking or usage telemetry.

3. How We Use Your Information

License data is used to validate that your copy of the app is properly licensed and to allow you to activate the app on permitted devices.

Purchase records are used to fulfill your order and provide customer support related to billing.

Support emails are used solely to respond to your request and resolve issues you report.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

LicenseSeat (licenseseat.com) manages license key generation and validation. When you activate a license, your key and a machine identifier are sent to LicenseSeat servers. The app is configured to allow 30 days of offline use after a successful online validation. Please review LicenseSeat's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.

LemonSqueezy (lemonsqueezy.com) processes all payments. Your payment and billing details are governed by LemonSqueezy's privacy policy and terms. We recommend reviewing them before completing a purchase.

These third-party providers are only used for their specific purpose (licensing and payments) and are not given access to your music library or usage data.

5. Data Storage and Security

License activation state is stored locally on your device in a file managed by the app. Your email address used for purchase is stored by LemonSqueezy and LicenseSeat according to their own policies.

We take reasonable technical precautions to protect the data we handle, but no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password for your email account to protect your purchase confirmation.

6. Your Rights (GDPR and similar laws)

If you are located in the European Union or another region with privacy rights legislation, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@mypersonaldj.com. We will respond within 30 days. In most cases, the personal information we hold is limited to your support correspondence and the activation record managed by LicenseSeat, which you can also request to be removed directly through them.

7. Children's Privacy

My Personal DJ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
